Stupid Politician Tricks

In Lebanon, it seems like "surrender" is their "plan of operation." The other day, they fired the director of security at their airport because he was a "terrorist sympathizer." Hezbolla (one of the best known terrorist groups) objected and started making trouble for the government. So the government, predictably, "surrendered" and reinstated him (they say "temporary." Then there is Burma (also known as Myanmar) where 100,000 people have died and many more are homeless, where the communist dictatorship is "allowing" in a very small amount of "humanitarian aid," which they have "confiscated (stolen"), and where they devote more manpower to following and intimidating news crews than they have to helping their people survive. They "handed out" boxes of aid, with propaganda messages enclosed, making it look like they are they source. In Russia (where there IS no communism any more) "former" communist secret policeman and later president Vladmir Putin was appointed (and installed) as prime minister by his "hand-picked" successor to the presidency, which is now little more than a "ceremonial position" (with most power now in the prime minister's hands (and they really think the world doesn't notice things like this?). In Iraq, they have done exactly what the terrorists want them to do, so they'll "agree to stop shooting at each other. In America, President George Bush (who is "marrying off" his daughter this weekend) has "bought" AlGore's massive global swindle about man-made global warming. He further thinks "America is "addicted to oil." Under that definition, I'm "addicted" to food and water because I eat and drink it every day. I have to, to stay alive. That's not "an addiction." It's a "basic need," as is oil.

Who The Hell Does He Think He Is?

New York Mayor Bloomberg is suing a gun manufacturer in Georgia, and that dealer is citing the Second Amendment in his defense. So Bloomberg is now trying to get the judge to stop them from even MENTIONING the Second Amendment. What gall! Even if the judge HAD that kind of authority, he shouldn't, because the Second Amendment is a BASIC right, no matter what Bloomberg might think (He says "any reference to the Second Amendment is irrelevant in this trial." How stupid is that?). That's like telling a judge to stop any reference to murder in a murder trial. I think we need to get rid of politicians like Bloomberg. I'm thankful he's not the mayor of Denver, although we have had some mayors her just as bad, if not as rich. Bloomberg has a "total disregard" for the law. That's not the kind of politician we want in this country. If not for the Constitution, Bloomberg might be in line for the job of "dictator" if it ever came open, and he'd do the job with a complete disregard for not only the law, but for the rights of citizens. Where Did the "Smoking Settlement Money" Go?

In Illinois, they have passed a law allowing them to "take" $235 million dollars of the $270 million they STOLE from the cigarette companies (You know, the money that was "earmarked" for anti-smoking propaganda?). This just proves, once again, that the act of suing cigarette companies for making a LEGAL product was not about smoking and cigarettes. It was simply a means of "stealing the profits" of companies who, they could convince enough people, made a product THEY didn't like. I think if we looked, we'd find that this sort of thing has happened in every state who got a "cut of the loot." (Just common sense)

Not THIS Woman!

Hillary, I'm sure, is attributing her foundering campaign to the refusal of "white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants" to elect a woman president. She's wrong. Maybe SOME people DO just not want to elect a woman president. But most just don't want to elect THIS woman president. I'm one of those. I'd elect Condoleeza in a minute. And she's not only a woman' she's black. But she's also the right kind of woman and wouldn't move us closer to socialism if elected. This is just the kind of thinking that is one of the primary reasons I, along with many others (including half of Democrats) would not like this woman (who thinks the job is hers "by right" of succession) elected. But the country has spoken: they want to be RID of the Clintons. The biggest albatross around Hillary's neck (aside from her socialist politics, of course) is . . .Bill This is the second election he has lost for a protégé. Research showed that whenever Bill Clinton was mentioned in the Gore campaign, his numbers went down quicker than Bill's pants whenever he got a chance. Ann Coulter says, "[W]e are now left with two dangerous choices for president -- a young liberal who is friendly with terrorists or an old liberal who is friendly with Teddy Kennedy." (Ann Coulter)

Gore Will Use ANYTHING to Support His Swindle

Now he's claiming the disastrous cyclone in Burma (I don't care what the military junta calls it now) was "caused by global warming." This in SPITE of the new evidence that we haven't been "warming" for years, but in fact, might be entering a "cooling" period. But of course, Gore calls such things "evidence of junk science" and those saying such things "global warming deniers" instead of trying to argue on the merits. That's his method, and it is the method of a swindler who is about to lose his swindle The only reason Gore is not in prison for his swindle is that he's so good at convincing otherwise intelligent people he's right. He'll probably jump on the earthquake in Japan as "more evidence" that global warming is real. (My Way)

Is It A "Recession?"

Larry Elder says,  " 'It's a recession,' said former President Harry Truman, 'when your neighbor loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours.' For people facing home foreclosure, job loss or the struggle of paying high gas prices, the definition a recession seems immaterial and insignificant. True." The term "recession" is a mathematical term, indicating two consecutive quarters of reduction in the economy. But to those who have lost their homes, been fired, and cannot get another job that pays as much as the one they had. THIS is a "recession." It is not. The "foreclosure problem" was not caused by an economic downturn. It was caused by a combination of lenders making loans they KNEW the borrower could not repay, buyers accepting loans they KNEW they could not repay, hoping for the government to "bail them out." This had "rippled" into the job market and caused SOME layoffs and an "employer's market" in hiring. Workers should simply rent a house and accept a job at a lower rate of pay (for a while) until things "open up." Whining and crying won't make things better. Thinking we are "in a recession" won't do it. We have to "think positively" because those who BELIEVE we're in a recession will create their own "self-perpetuating prophecy" and will CAUSE a recession. (Larry Elder/Human Events)

Liberals "Hysterical" Over "Operation Chaos"

Most liberals are trying their best to IGNORE Rush Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos," saying it's just Limbaugh "tampering" with election results for the benefit of the Republicans. But others are plainly hysterical over it. The link below is to a German publication where they reveal their hysteria. In the article they refer to Limbaugh as the "most influential talk radio showman of the right." In actuality, he's the most influential talk radio "showman," period. There is NO "talker" on the left to top, or even come near him. They also refer to what he says as "poison." It's only "poison to THEM. To intelligent Americans who "pay attention to politics," it's "truth." It's using their own tactics against them while TELLING THEM what he was doing. Die Welt repeated the imaginary theory that Limbaugh WANTED riots in Denver, just as happened in Chicago in 1968 (a theory that has been since disproved). (Die Welt)

Is This Not Racism?

The "gloves are coming off" in the collapsing Hillary campaign. Now she openly says she will be elected by "white people." The Democrats want the world to think the Republicans are racists, but who, I ask you, are always putting people into groups? People are INDIVIDUALS, whether or not Democrats realize it. Unfortunately for her, more and more people, thanks to Rush Limbaugh and other non-left commentators, realize that, and refuse to vote as groups; white or black, men or women, gun owners or anti-gun freaks, etc. Non-left commentators and bloggers (myself included) are getting to more and more people and it might just affect the outcome of this election. I certainly hope so. (USA Today)

"Sauce for the Goose"

Is also "sauce for the gander." Democrats are berating Rush Limbaugh for "tampering with election results" with his "Operation Chaos." They're hoping people forget this is exactly what THEY did in the Republican primary, ending up actually "selecting" John McCain (the nearest thing to a Democrat on the GOP side) as the Republican nominee. The only thing is, Rush did it publicly, even giving it a name, while Democrats did it "under the table (they thought)." Now, they've found it necessary to spend a lot more money and are still fighting amongst themselves, daily finding more and more "negatives" about each other and using them, damaging the Democrat Party every day, while McCain relaxes. It was recently revealed that Hillary "loaned herself" more than $6 million dollars so she could continue her losing campaign. Credit Limbaugh with that. (Ben Smith's Blog)

Imams Want To "Boycott" Airlines

"Six imams removed from a US Airways flight from Minneapolis to Phoenix some time ago are calling on Muslims to boycott the airline. If only we could get Muslims to boycott all airlines, we could dispense with airport security altogether." "Witnesses said the imams stood to do their evening prayers in the terminal before boarding, chanting 'Allah, Allah, Allah' -- coincidentally, the last words heard by hundreds of airline passengers on 9/11 before they died." I'm not going to say they did that on purpose, but it would seem to me such "learned men" would know better than to do such a thing PUBLICLY just before getting on an airplane. They act like they wonder why we would do such a thing as to "bounce" them off the airplane. "Witnesses also said that the imams were talking about Saddam Hussein, and denouncing America and the war in Iraq. About the only scary preflight ritual the imams didn't perform was the signing of last wills and testaments [Which they might have done earlier. -RT]. After boarding, the imams did not sit together and some asked for seat belt extensions, although none were morbidly obese. Three of the men had one-way tickets and no checked baggage. Also they were Muslims." Did they really think we would ignore all that? They should remember that WE do not fly stolen airplanes into occupied buildings, killing all aboard and all in the buildings, while mumbling the SAME prayers, as other Muslims have done. Muslims, like Democrats, must think we're stupid. Do they really think anyone CARES if they boycott American airlines? (This just shows their complete IGNORANCE of what makes America tick.) Ann Coulter is often criticized for "saying it like it is," but somebody needs to do it. What I like about Ann is her tendency never to use "weasel words" in commenting on the news. Forget her beauty, her long, beautiful legs, tiny body, and her long blond hair. It's her WORDS I like. Yeah, that's it. I like her words only. (Syndicated columnist Ann Coulter in Human Events)

"Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"

In that famous movie where a scout leader was appointed to fill a Senate term by a "back-room boy" who thought he could be easily fooled, this "dupe" found corruption and filibustered to end it. They "pulled out all the stops" to win, but Mr. Smith won, with the help of his scouts. A similar thing is happening in Michigan where they're pulling out all the stops to end a "recall attempt" against Andy Dillon, Speaker of the House after a huge tax increase. In the movie, thugs physically block and intimidate the scouts, and similar things are being done in Michigan by Dillon staffers, who have flocked into the district to intimidate those hoping to recall their boss. One such thug is a known criminal, hired to "educate" voters. He's an eight-time felon with a "rap sheet" including armed robbery. Even the cops spent public money to make "robo-calls" to residents and lie to them, saying the recall backers were "extremists" and were engaged in an "illegal effort." They're not. A recall effort is VERY legal and the use of the "robo-call" system in political action IS illegal, even if they were telling the truth, which they're not. They're even telling taxpayers the recall will cost a lot of money, which it won't, since it's being "piggy-backed" onto the regularly scheduled August Primary. And the recall WILL go on, since they have more than enough signatures. Alas, politics is still a "dirty business." (Common Sense/Sam Adams Alliance)

Pot-Shots

By Ashleigh Brilliant (that's really his name) contain a lot of wisdom, some of it inadvertent, often completely brilliant. The one published on April 11, 2008 was the most brilliant of all. It said that the worst thing about living forever would be having to endure "an endless series of presidential elections." He's SO right. One of the things I hate most about living is that we seem to be in "an election condition" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year--and we all have to suffer through it. It's not that I don't want to have to vote--it's just that I've grown tired of not being able to go ANYWHERE, do ANYTHING, without seeing the faces of the candidates and hearing their lies. Another drawback to living forever would be to have to suffer through the stupidities of politicians (and individuals who believe these politicians), over and over again, each time thinking they're doing or saying something new. I've been through several such repeats and I can see things younger people don't, because they just haven't lived long enough to have seen it before. Yet they still think they know more than I do. How do you "pound" the truth into them? You don't. They have to make their own mistakes. The only problem is, the longer I live, the more often I have to see the repeats of stupidities while they MAKE their own mistakes. (Pot-Shots)

AlGore's Worst Nightmare

We have not only NOT been "warming" recently, but we're entering a period of "global cooling." From 1940 to 1974, the world has been COOLING; From 1975 to 1998, it WAS "warming" slightly. But from 1999 to 2015, the world will be COOLING again. These figures show that AlGore's swindle is just that: a swindle and he's going to have a hard time convincing people the world is "warming" when it is actively COOLING. But he'll try. He'll try and convince you these figures are wrong, and the result of "junk science." He'll argue =with the results of scholarly research by PROVEN scientists, using the results gained from his own "junk scientists," and he will brand anyone who disagrees with his phony "findings" as "global warming deniers." He will keep on preaching the same things he's been preaching for years, notwithstanding the fact that NONE of them have come true, and there is no sign they will. (London Telegraph)

Is This Familiar?

This is an edited version of an e-mail sent me on a List I'm on. It's about a documentary: "The Nazis: A Warning From History." "[T]he footage is remarkable, e.g., Hitler hugging children, taking naps; Nazi carnivals that look like something out of Eyes Wide Shut, Nazi youth camps and hippie-like communes, etc. [T]he interviews with former Nazis is very disturbing -- how people respond to a powerful charismatic leader who can give their life 'meaning' via being part of a collective, losing their identity, having (ahem) hope, etc. One woman interviewed (in the late 1990s) was confronted with a letter she'd sent to the Gestapo about the 'suspicious' activities of a neighbor, who was eventually hauled off and killed. At first she claimed not to remember it, and then pretty much admitted to it! It was something else to see her on camera being confronted with it. Another notable part was on how Hitler ruled. . .according to the documentary, he'd speak in broad terms of what he wanted. The underlings would make the specific policy recommendations and claim that they reflected what Hitler wanted." I THOUGHT what we were hearing from both Obama's and Hillary's camps was strange and alarming. How do we GET such people as SERIOUS candidates for the highest office in the land? These people are serious socialists -- as was Hitler. Take a lesson. (Net Flix)

Life's Not Fair!

Liberals rely on people telling one another, "life's not fair!" But life should NOT be fair. If life were fair, we'd all be broke, including those who are now rich or just "well-to-do." Then from where would come the money to invest in profit-making, jobs-creating projects? You know, the kind of projects that provide jobs and money for ALL of us? Yes, it's "not fair" that some should be rich and others poor. I'd love to be "rich" and be able to enjoy the fruits of riches. But not as an "inheritee." I want to EARN my own "riches." I don't want to be a Teddy Kennedy, to whom money means NOTHING because he's never had to earn a penny. He inherited $750 million from his father, who got it from bootlegging. He's "gone through" half of it with nothing to show for it and has never had a moment when he has had to wonder where his next meal is coming from, or his next dollar. He just "reaches out" and it's there (one of his "flunkies" puts it in his hand). His only decision at dinner time is if he wants to spend $500 or $5,000 for his next meal. Yes, that's "not fair," and whose fault is it? Not mine, and certainly not yours. The liberal view of "fair" is for there to be NO "rich." For ALL to be "poor." And if you don't believe it, look at all their "safety net" programs. None will ever make ANYONE rich (except maybe some of the liberals). They make everybody uniformly poor. Bill Gates is one of the riches people in the nation, and has CREATED more millionaires that you can count. Not to mention all those who are now "near-rich" because of him and Microsoft. If he had not created Microsoft, there would be a lot more "poor people" in the world. Believe it.

P. J. O'Rourke recently made an "imaginary" commencement speech that was a lot different from usual. His first recommendation was for them to "go out and make a lot of money," which is just the opposite of what they've been conditioned to do by the liberals in education. Read his speech. It will be "an epiphany" for most. Here's part of it: "We were the moron generation. We were the generation that believed we could stop the Vietnam War by growing our hair long and dressing like circus clowns. We believed drugs would change everything -- which they did, for John Belushi. We believed in free love. Yes, the love was free, but we paid a high price for the sex. My generation spoiled everything for you. It has always been the special prerogative of young people to look and act weird and shock grown-ups. But my generation exhausted the Earth's resources of the weird. Weird clothes -- we wore them. Weird beards -- we grew them. Weird words and phrases -- we said them. So, when it came your turn to be original and look and act weird, all you had left was to tattoo your faces and pierce your tongues. Ouch. That must have hurt. I apologize. (P. J. O'Rourke)
