"40-Hour Ban on Murder!"

In Los Angeles, they want to "ban" murder for 40 hours! I always thought murder WAS banned, everywhere! Have you ever heard anything so incredibly stupid? Will they ALLOW murder after that 40 hours? This is the kind of incredibly stupid laws passed by liberals when they gain power in government (as they have in California). These are the same people who make laws against people carrying guns that only seem to apply to people who OBEY the law while criminals, who don't, remain armed and have a steady supply of unarmed victims. They don't know that laws against carrying guns, which criminals don't obey anyway, will NOT stop criminals from carrying their guns. Do they REALLY think a 40-hour ban on murder will stop, or even slow down, the murder rate in Los Angeles, or anywhere else? That illustrates, for me, the incredible stupidity of those people to waste the city's money and time to even CONSIDER such a thing. It amazes me that these people are even able to collect a salary while showing this kind of idiocy. (Los Angeles Times)

When is a "Study" not a "Study?"

When it's a letter to the editor of "the prestigious Annals of Internal Medicine." Who is the author of this "study" trying to fool? Only everybody who doesn't know you can get your letters to the editor published "in the prestigious,Journals" with NO "peer review, which is required of REAL "studies. This "author" knows you can't see what and how it was "published" in this "prestigious" publication. Those who cannot read this journal will never know it was just a letter to the editor and not a REAL "study." Methinks the author of this letter wanted to influence the news media toward socialized medicine, and he succeeded, except for those of us who not only pay attention, but who also check out the methodology of such "studies." "Zero Tolerance"

I've heard a lot over the years about "zero-tolerance policies" to excuse stupid measures taken not only by "school authorities (Strip search crotch inspections to find ASPIRIN)," But police (There must be drugs here!) as well. What a great way for those who like looking at the crotches of little children, and who happen to be "in authority" to be able to "get a thrill" and be nominally "within the law!" (I'd bet those "authorities" have to leave suddenly for the bathroom when they do it) "Zero tolerance leaves NO LEEWAY for so-called "authorities" to use their own judgment. And some of them like it that way. They can act like "little dictators," treating their students (or in the case of the cops) their "perps" as people who have no rights, since there is a "zero tolerance policy." Liberals are always coming up with ways to get around people's constitutional rights, and "zero tolerance policies," which are not laws, but simply bureaucratic edicts, are one of the worst examples of "the Man" "running roughshod" over the rights of Americans. An eighth-grader was recently suspended for "sniffing" a "Sharpie." What a load! (Just common sense)

School "Crotch Inspectors"

What would you think if your children were subjected to "crotch inspections" to see if they were secreting ASPIRIN in their pants without notification of the parents? Boy! What a neat excuse for someone who likes to look at little boys and little girls naked to get APPROVAL to strip search children 13 and under at school! I've heard of this before, but I thought school "authorities" had learned their lesson before they found themselves unemployed or in prison for child abuse. But apparently they've learned nothing in Safford,Arizona, where they do this regularly, and with COURT APPROVAL! (Notice it's the oft-reversed 9th Circuit Court that made that decision). I wonder how many children will be scarred by this experience before "wiser heads" reverse their decision (as usual)? In 2003, on the unsupported word of a student caught with a small number of 400 Mg Ibuprofen pills, an Honor Student with NO record of anything but superlative grades was summarily strip-searched without notification of her parents OR any kind of a warrant (Notice the student caught with the aspirin was NOT strip-searched). What makes these people think they have the power to do such things is beyond me. If there was any REAL danger, they should call the parent and have THEM do any searches they feel necessary, in private.  BUt they don't operate that way.Jacob Sullum says, "Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between "drug warriors" and "child molesters." I agree. Maybe because there IS no difference in some cases. The girl said it was the most humiliating experience she had ever had. The school principal (Robert Beeman) said the strip-search was "no big deal" because they didn't find anything and did it on the unsupported accusation of the student who was in trouble and wanted to "share" it. I say this supercilious jerk is wrong. It WAS a "big deal" BECAUSE they didn't find anything! This will not be the last such report, as liberals get more and more power. The "child protectors" weren't even involved, according to this report. (The Atlasphere/Jacob Sullum)

Unbelievable Numbers

According to this news report, jobless claims went from 38,000 to 407,000! What a crock! If they can't scare us out of Iraq by inflating death statistics, they try to make us think a recession is coming by inflating jobless numbers. If those numbers were real, nobody would have to tell us about it. We'd ALL be unemployed! How stupid do they think we are? Notice how they slip that term, "seasonally adjusted" in there. What that means is they're admitting to "cooking" the numbers but use that as an excuse. (Yahoo News)

Typical Zawahiri Lies

He says al-Qaida "doesn't kill innocent people." I guess it's all in your definition of "innocent." Their definition of "innocent" is anybody who believes as THEY do. Anybody else is an "Infidel," or an"unbeliever," and is NOT "innocent." He says, The U. S. will "fall like a house of cards." That sounds strangely like what dead former USSR Premier Nikita Kruschev said at the U. N., as he beat the table with his shoe. You know what happened to the USSR. It "fell like a house of cards," as will al Qaida and the rest of the Islamic terrorists. Now he's claiming any civilian casualties were caused by "the enemy" (US) using them as human shields. What unmitigated gall! (But then that's no surprise) The terrorists have ALWAYS used civilians as human shields. We have not!  Does he really think we will believe that? How stupid is HE? So he's "second in command, huh? His time is coming. Get his "virgins" ready. He'll be captured or killed soon, as was bin Laden, years ago. He still claims bin Laden is still alive but he can't produce a live body. I think bin Laden was made into a "crispy critter" years ago when we bombed a cave he in which he was hiding. (Jihad Watch)

Obama Is A "Disguised Racist"

You don't believe it? Read his "Dime Store Mein Kampf." Read about how he judges white college students to be racist because they "smiled too much" about the black party to which he brought them and wanted to leave early (because they sensed the hatred). When one of his buddies spoke about it in a friendly fashion on the way home, he "wanted to punch him right there." Then there's how he "handled" white people by speaking politely and "not making any sudden moves." He talks too, about "white man's rules." If I complained about "black man's rules," would I be a racist? Yup. Ann Coulter is right in this article when she says "White people aren't thinking about black people all the time." To think they are is another kind of racism. And this guy wants to be president? If you don't believe he's at least as much of a racist than Rev. Wright, just read his book ("Dreams From My Father"). He'll tell you himself. But don't buy it. Borrow it. (Ann Coulter)

Plagiarism?

The liberals pounced all over a McCain speech where he seemed to plagiarize Admiral Timothy Ziemer when he said this: " I detest war. It might not be the worst thing to befall human beings, but it is wretched beyond all description. When nations seek to resolve their differences by force of arms, a million tragedies ensue. The lives of a nation's finest patriots are sacrificed. Innocent people suffer and die. Commerce is disrupted; economies are damaged; strategic interests shielded by years of patient statecraft are endangered as the exigencies of war and diplomacy conflict. Not the valor with which it is fought nor the nobility of the cause it serves, can glorify war. Whatever gains are secured, it is loss the veteran remembers most keenly." So they found where Ziemer had said the same thing and just couldn't wait to scream "plagiarism!" Unfortunately for them, the good Admiral plagiarized McCain! This was even posted on McCain's own web site way before the Admiral said it. They didn't bother to verify the story by even asking McCain about it. Will they shut up about it? Not likely. They want to derail McCain's candidacy like they did when Joe Biden was caught in REAL plagiarism. (Front Page Magazine)

Musings on "Real Life"

Liberals still think the way to self-defense is DISARMING ourselves while criminals have no trouble getting as many guns as they want. They carry that over into their foreign policy, where they want us to "talk to" murderous dictators such as Ahmadjinidad and Hugo Chavez, rather than make them "toe the line": in their dealings with us. They want to "talk" to Islamic terrorists (who only want to kill "unbelievers") instead of killing them as fast as they reveal themselves. The liberal news media promises to bring you news from "real life." Only problem is they don't deliver -- on purpose. Even though they're running a FEW negative stories about Hillary now, they still ignore the most important ones. Such as the one about her hiring an ex-con (Tony Pellicano) to "eavesdrop" on her enemies while whining about Bush's plan to eavesdrop on TERRORISTS, not Americans. Didja see anything about that in the liberal news? I didn't think so. What about the "spineless" French whose country is now made up of a majority of Muslims, who drive their foreign policy? They want to "cooperate" with Ahmadjinidad. Maybe they never heard about Neville Chamberlain and his attempt to "talk to" Adolph Hitler that got the WWII started. Europe is where non-Muslim women are subjected to insults and are terrorized into wearing veils by Muslims who call them Infidel whores, and other uncalled-for insults (If I were such a woman, I'd tell those Islamic jerks to "screw off."). Didja know your schoolchildren are forced to watch AlGore's propaganda movie about global warming? You know, the one that has been found to be a complete fabrication? There is so much of this stuff out there that I just don't have time to make up a separate item for each thing. So I'll just mention them here and let you do your own research. Did you know McDonald's is getting ready to "aggressively promote" the gay agenda? They've given "big money" to one of the biggest "gay-promoting" organizations in the country. They say this is "socially responsible." It is NOT. It is "socially IRresponsible." I have nothing against what gay people do behind closed doors, but I don't want outfits like McDonald's teaching it to my children and grandchildren. (Sources: "National Review" and AFA)

Creating A Recession

The Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has joined the din of liberal "warnings" about "the coming recession. If one comes it will be because of such claims being heard, over and over again in the media. Goebbel's explanation about how to make a lie into the truth is operative. He said, "Tell a lie. Tell it often to anyone who will listen. Tell it over and over again and soon people will come to believe it so strongly they will fight you if you deny it. If a recession DOES come it will have two causes: the "big lie" becoming a "self-fulfilling prophecy" through people hearing it over and over holding onto their money and CREATING a recession; plus the knowledge that liberal Democrats are now "in control" in Congress and the fear that they MAY soon also be in control in the White House, and the sure knowledge that they will raise taxes so much people will have a lot less money to spend. Bush's tax reductions caused a return to economic excellence in this country. The Democrat's tax increases will CREATE the recession they SAY they "fear." Look back: were Republicans or Democrats in control when we have had recessions in the past? (Yahoo News)

What A Load!

During the highly-touted "Earth Hour," I turned on every light in the house, and that made not a whit of difference. " "What we really need to raise awareness about is just how indispensable carbon-based energy is to human life. Forget one measly hour with just the lights off. How about "Earth Month," without any form of fossil fuel energy? Let those who claim that we need to stop emitting carbon dioxide try spending a month shivering in the dark without heating, electricity, refrigeration; without power plants or factories, grocery stores or hospitals; without any of the labor- saving, time-saving, and therefore life-saving products that industrial energy makes possible." AlGore's swindle is "alive and well," and many otherwise intelligent people are "buying the load of crap" he puts out. I don't. He tries to cut off debate by saying, "The debate is over" and that global warming "is settled science." Neither is true. Both are lies. Gore can't cut off debate by saying such things. This has been called "the biggest swindle in the history of the world," and that's exactly what it is. I will continue to say that as long as his swindle is "required reading" and "required viewing" in our schools, hoping to get to our impressionable children with his lies. Trucker Strike: Wrong Target

The "one-day trucker's strike" is taking aim at the wrong target. They want the GOVERNMENT to "put a cap" on fuel prices. But why don't they strike against the TRUCKING COMPANIES who are paying THE SAME RATES they paid drivers 25 YEARS AGO while fuel prices have increased hundreds of a percent? The government isn't the place to go for reparations in this fight. It is the trucking companies who refuse to raise the rates they pay truckers to reflect the increase in fuel costs. Do they really expect these drivers to swallow those inflated fuel costs forever? They'd better "get it in gear" and give these truckers some relief, or soon there won't BE any truckers. Then what will happen to the economy? (Breitbart)

Incomprehensible

I originally noticed this about John Kerry and his rich wife, but I'm noticing it again about Hillary and Obama. Even McCain. It is a fact that all three current presidential candidates "speak in long, incomprehensible sentences full of 'sound and fury,' signifying nothing. This appears to be standard operating procedure with most politicians. One thing I always liked about Ronald Reagan is that his answers to questions were usually short and to the point. That is so unlike normal politicians that it would have amazed me if I had been paying attention back then. It DOES amaze me as I think back on it. If you want to learn how to talk for an hour without saying a single thing, just listen to a politician, especially when someone (rarely) asks them a solid question they don't want to answer. (Just common sense)

Who Cares About Terrorists?

I hear a lot of whining from liberals about how we treat the Islamic terrorists we're holding at Guantanamo and other places, but I have to ask, "Who cares about how we treat Islamic terrorists, most of whom were caught in the act of killing innocent civilians in one way or another?" They don't care about our opinion of how they treat not only the soldiers they capture, but also innocent people such as the reporter they beheaded? Frankly, I think if they're caught in the act, they should be shot on the spot. Cheaper and better, and it sends them a message. Maybe we should start beheading them. Treat them the same way they treat our people. They say Islam is "The Religion of Peace," yet they'll KILL you if you even SUGGEST they are violent and they can get to you. There MAY BE some "peaceful Muslims" out there, but that's IN SPITE of what they're taught by their Imams and in the Koran. (Islam: Religion of Peace) and lots of dead bodies.

Why "Big Oil" Profits?

Democrats and other liberals like to remind us that the "big oil" companies are making "big profits." They make "big talk" about the one BILLION dollars they (oil companies) made the last year alone. But they never talk about the billions of dollars they pay to governments (actually, WE pay it) in taxes, when we buy gasoline. They (governments) get this money, which is MORE than the oil companies get, without putting a single penny into searching for oil, or refining it, or distribution. It's ALL PROFIT for them. Why are the oil companies still making "big money?" Because the "environmental extremists" do not allow them to drill for oil ANYWHERE the United States owns or controls. So the money they would have spent searching for oil stays in their coffers. Similarly, they have put enough "road blocks" in the way of those companies that want to build oil refineries that there has NOT been a SINGLE oil refinery built in more than THIRTY YEARS, while demand had been INCREASING EXPONENTIALLY. Meanwhile, they put no similar "roadblocks" in the way of Ethanol refineries, and they have been built by the HUNDREDS. This is because Ethanol is THEIR "baby." If Ethanol was so good, why does it need government subsidies? We are not "being held hostage" by "big oil." Big oil IS "big oil" because it is the ONLY thing that will do all it does at such a low price (No matter how high it seems right now). We've been trying to find an adequate substitute for oil for many years, but there is nothing, so far, that will do the same job for as little money -- and oil is NECESSARY to our survival, no matter how much environmental crazies lie about it. Yet they continue to blame "big oil" for all our problems, saying we're "addicted" to oil. I'm not "addicted" to food, but I eat some three times a day. It's necessary to my survival, as is oil to this nation's survival. And until we find an adequate substitute, it always WILL be. (Yahoo News)
