McCain Must Not Want To Be President

If he did, he would take advantage of every "stumble" made by Obama OR Hillary. But instead of doing so, he DENOUNCES it when the North Carolina Republican Party does so in his stead, and even goes so far as to say that organization is "out of touch." You don't win the support of EITHER party by insulting them and denouncing what they do in an attempt to help you. (Human Events)

Still Arguing About Guns

Everybody's always arguing about whether or not honest, law-abiding people should be allowed to carry guns concealed for self-protection. But what's the argument about? The Constitution clearly states "No American shall be deprived of arms," that silly addition about "militias" notwithstanding. At the time it was written, militias, as "agencies of government" did not exist. The "militia" was ALL THE PEOPLE. At that time, government recognized the fact it could not defend us, and they expected us to defend ourselves against attack from another person and EXPECTED us to have the means to that defense. They recognized that "gun laws" merely made it harder on a criminal who used them to commit crimes, not to prevent EVERYBODY from carrying them. What is so hard to understand about that, that they have to argue about it hundreds of years later? It was only when Eastern liberal elites began to take over in the "hinterland" that laws were made to prohibit self-defense and the right to carry and use the means to that end. I keep asking the "unanswerable question" of "anti-gun freaks" and they have never been able to answer. They predictably start "calling me names," immediately. The question is: "What makes you think CRIMINALS, whose entire life is devoted to breaking the law, will OBEY a law that says they cannot be armed?" Colorado finally made a sensible law about "concealed carry" when a Republican was governor and it had a Republican majority in the legislature. I've been watching for the new Democrat legislature and Democrat governor to try and do something about that, and it is happening now. And they're still fighting about something even the Supreme Court agrees is an INDIVIDUAL right. What the hell don't they understand about that? They think they can lower violent crime rates by taking away from honest people the means to defend themselves. They're wrong. Gun laws should only apply to criminals who use guns to commit crime and should not be routinely used as "throw-away charges" to get confessions out of criminals by "dropping" them. They should be enforced to the limit in such cases. (Denver Post)

Sharpton "Spins" Wright

I'm watching Al Sharpton right now on FOX, of all places, "spinning" the "Rev. Wright controversy. And they say Fox is "biased." I don't know why ANYBODY  (except liberals) would ask Al Sharpton for his opinion on ANYTHING, but apparently Fox would, and does. Do you think the liberals will now stop their campaign to paint Fox as "biased?" No. They'll ignore Fox actually asking one of this country's biggest race swindlers his opinion about Jeremiah Wright's racist rants and go right on calling Fox "biased." Truth means nothing to liberals. I put "race pimps" into Google and this is the top result. The next one was on Jesse Jackson. I didn't look further, but I'd bet "Calypso Louie) Louis Farakhan isn't far down the list. (LoneWacko blog)

Protecting Yourself From Criticism

Have you ever noticed that all the "race pimps" out there are "Rev. this" and "Pastor that?" But nowhere is there any evidence that any of them ever went to divinity school. There's no better way to keep people from criticizing you than being "a Man of Gawd!" Islamic terrorists use it all the time, and I think they learned it from the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan. These bozos don't answer any criticism you might offer. They just call you a "racist.": If that doesn't work, they say it's "an attack on the black church." But nowhere is there ANY argument against the criticisms people have made. (Just common sense)

Fox Reports Attack, Liberal Media Doesn't

American troops attacked a "terrorist stronghold," located right in the middle of a neighborhood that is home to millions of Iraq civilians and "55 yards away from a hospital." They managed to kill or capture many Islamic terrorists but the biggest part of the story, even on Fox (which the liberals continue to call "biased") was its nearness to a hospital (even though no patients were injured) and the U. S. sending a missile into a "neighborhood," killing and wounding a few civilians (who are conveniently close to the enemy's "lair.") But how do you kill the enemy if he's hiding among citizens and close to a hospital? That's where this enemy hides, hoping if we attack them in their lair, we'll accidentally kill or injure a few civilians and they can play that up in the liberal media. That is, when the liberal media bothers to report it, at all (Notice that even Fox won't call them Islamic terrorists. They still call them "militants."). (Fox News)

Do We Need A Philosophy?

Of course we do! Everybody has a "philosophy of life." Something that guides them in the living thereof. Some people don't realize they do. If they say they have no philosophy of life, THAT is their philosophy. Most people who think they have no philosophy DO have one, but don't realize what it is and can't put it into words. But it is there and can be extracted if the right questions are asked. Objectivism is a philosophy. But is one that is rejected by those who refuse to accept the Ayn Rand Institute's contention that Objectivism must be practiced AS IS, with no changes allowed. That is "cult-like," and SHOULD be rejected. Real Objectivism is that preached and practiced by the Atlas Society, where they admit that Objectivism is NOT "complete" as is, and CAN be changed as new FACTS are found. This is "Kelley Objectivism," and that's the philosophy to which I subscribe. ARI is well known to "excommunicate" those who disagree with their ideas, and force people to do likewise if they want to associate with them. Those of you who are ARI Objectivists, don't bother to write to take me to task because we must "agree to disagree." I am not, and cannot be, an ARI Objectivist. (William Thomas)
