By Ashleigh Brilliant (that's really his name) contain a lot of wisdom, some of it inadvertent, often completely
brilliant. The one published on April 11, 2008 was the most brilliant of all.
It said that the worst thing about living forever would be having to endure
"an endless series of presidential elections." He's SO right. One of
the things I hate most about living is that we seem to be in "an election
condition" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year--and we all have
to suffer through it. It's not that I don't want to have to vote--it's just
that I've grown tired of not being able to go ANYWHERE, do ANYTHING, without
seeing the faces of the candidates and hearing their lies. Another drawback to
living forever would be to have to suffer through the stupidities of
politicians (and individuals who believe these politicians), over and over
again, each time thinking they're doing or saying something new. I've been
through several such repeats and I can see things younger people don't, because
they just haven't lived long enough to have seen it before. Yet they still
think they know more than I do. How do you "pound" the truth into
them? You don't. They have to make their own mistakes. The only problem is, the
longer I live, the more often I have to see the repeats of stupidities while they MAKE their own mistakes.
