They're "lynching" the "big oil
CEOs" again today in Washington, when they should be "lynching"
themselves. They're doing their usual thing, blaming the oil companies for high
oil prices when it is the "environmental crazies" who influence their
votes who should be blamed for not allowing a single oil refinery to be built
in the United States or anywhere it controls things, not allowing ANY oil
drilling or even a search for oil within the United States. It's silly for this
country NOT to be the biggest producer of oil in the world. We've certainly got
the reserves underground if the environmental crazies would let us get to it.
Their tactics are miserable in their efforts to block ANY effort to drill for
oil in the U. S. or anywhere we "make the rules." An example is ANWR,
where they claim the entire territory is a "winter wonderland" when
the area in which we want to drill is like a bar of soap in the corner of a
football field--and that particular area is NOT a "winter
wonderland." It's like a frozen desert where nobody lives, or wants to
live--except for animals, which would do better if we were there. But you'll
never get them to admit that, even if positive proof is placed in front of
their faces. They blame the oil companies to get people's minds off THEIR
obstinate refusal to allow us to get at OUR OWN oil. They make such cracks as "America
is 'addicted' to foreign oil," as if it was OUR FAULT the world's demand
(with China and other populous countries using a lot more than before) has
outstripped the supply. We can't even REFINE it if we could get it out of the
ground, since environmentalist crazies have seen to it that not a SINGLE oil
refinery has been built in more than 30 years. It amazes me that otherwise
intelligent people (such as George Bush) can't see this. (Real Clear Politics)
