Oil Prices Coming Down

Yes, the reduction in gasoline usage caused by drivers changing their ways (gasoline usage has gone down more than ever in the past) because of this artificially manufactured "oil crisis" is starting to cause oil prices to start in a downward direction, and some "experts" are now saying gasoline prices may not get to the predicted $5 a gallon this year. But I wouldn’t bet on prices ever getting back to the level where they were before this skyrocket began. That's not how they operate. I've been watching gasoline prices go up and down for a lot of years, and they NEVER get back to the prices that prevailed before they began to suddenly rise. They always rise to an unnecessarily high level, and people, while whining about it, pay the price for a while. Then when prices come down somewhat, they heave a sigh of relief and pay the new price, which is lower than it was, but not nearly as low as it was before (this is the NINTH such occurrence since March) each time the overall price remaining higher than it was). If we could see a chart of gasoline prices over the last forty years it would look like a saw blade, going VERY high, then going back to a level ABOVE the old price. This is how the "powers that be" set prices, and raise them, while :"conditioning" you to pay a higher price each time. In this manner, they SLOWLY raise the price while getting you used to paying more. (Energy Plug)

Obama Just Soesn't Know!

Obama was heard to say, in a Memorial Day speech, "We are gathered here today to honor those who have fallen in defense of their country, many of whom I see here today." Really? What did they do? Dig them up and prop them up so he could see them? Is it possible Obama doesn't know that "fallen" means DEAD? If so, how could they "be here today?" I know Obama is a "product" of public school education, but I didn't think even THAT would make him that ignorant. Maybe I was wrong. (Just common sense)

Liberals "Dancing in the Streets!"

"NEW YORK - Soaring gas prices and weakening job prospects left shoppers gloomier about the economy in May, sending a key barometer of consumer sentiment to its lowest level in almost 16 years." And naturally, the 'news item' about it uses a picture of one of their hated "big box stores," Target. This news couldn't be better for liberals because every percentile this goes down is millions of votes to keep liberals in power. It works because most people don't pay attention to politics until just before an election, so don't know that the conditions that CAUSED this situation came from THEIR policies. Yet they keep trumpeting "change" long enough, people believe they can DO something about these situations THEY caused. I'm getting really tired of repeating what I said above, but maybe that's what it will take to "wake up" Americans that their biggest enemy (besides Islamic terrorists) is liberalism, which, if they have their way, will have us under a collectivist (socialist) government soon. Massive Montana Oil Find

They found enough oil in Montana and the Dakotas to increase our oil reserves by ten times. But will the environmental crazies let them drill? I doubt it. They don't care about high oil prices. They think the "snail darter" is more important than finding new sources of the lubricant that keeps this entire world running. The lubricant for which they've not been able to find a workable substitute that costs less The Alaska oil field also has the ability to help reduce fuel prices, but ask about drilling there and environmental crazies dirty their pants. They don't care if gas prices go up to ten dollars a gallon. Most of them are from rich families, anyway, as are most liberals who have too much time on their hands and not enough intelligence to go around. (Next Energy News)

Should "Art" Be Free?

There's a discussion going on, on a discussion List for writers I'm on about a teenager who was bragging about his free music downloads, saying, "Music is art. Why should I pay for art?" What ignorance this shows on the part of this teenager, AND on the part of society that agrees with him. Art is property. The property of the artist. It took time and effort, and most of all, TALENT to produce, and that "artist," like a workman building a brick wall, is ENTITLED to be PAID for his/her efforts. That teenager who downloads it for free is STEALING, just as if he/she had broken into a warehouse and stolen physical property. There is controversy about music companies "coming down hard" on such ignorant teens for downloading their music for free by suing them for "big bucks." This should not be "controversial." These kids need to be taught what society these days does not teach them. Everything that is someone's PROPERTY must be PAID FOR, "Art," no matter how "non-physical" it may be, had to be PRODUCED, by SOMEONE and is their PROPERTY. Music is art. Yes. Paintings are "art." Sculpture is "art." Someone with TALENT must PRODUCE the art, and they don't need to do it for the pleasure of this teen, for free. Nobody would think of just "taking" a painting or sculpture without paying for it. Why should they consider music any different? If the producer doesn't get paid for his/her efforts, soon there will be no one left to produce anything new. But today, people are taught that "property" is something that can be taken at will in certain circumstances. I say there ARE no circumstances in which a person's property can be taken at will. To think so is abysmal IGNORANCE, and this teenager is a "glittering jewel of abysmal ignorance." The whole idea that extending copyright protection would cause "stagnation" is silly. It's just "cover" for people who want to profit from the work of OTHERS without the trouble of producing it themselves. (Christian Science Monitor)

Congress CREATED the "Oil Crisis"

Why then, do we expect Congress to "solve the problem? Onerous "regulations" enabled by Congress, have caused NO gasoline refineries to be built in more than THIRTY YEARS while at the same time, similar "regulations," also caused by laws enacted by Congress, have kept us from drilling for oil ANYWHERE we are "in charge." We KNOW where there is enough oil in the United States to make the Arabs cry. But will we go after it and drill for it? Doubtful, because the "environmental crazies" won't let us. It's time we told them to "screw off" and started drilling in Alaska, Montana and North Dakota, and other places where such onerous "regulations" have prevented it thus far. (Economist Walter E. Williams)
