Why then, do we expect Congress to "solve the
problem? Onerous "regulations" enabled by Congress, have caused NO
gasoline refineries to be built in more than THIRTY YEARS while at the same
time, similar "regulations," also caused by laws enacted by Congress,
have kept us from drilling for oil ANYWHERE we are "in charge." We
KNOW where there is enough oil in the United States to make the Arabs cry. But will we go after it
and drill for it? Doubtful, because the "environmental crazies" won't
let us. It's time we told them to "screw off" and started drilling in
Alaska, Montana and North Dakota, and other places where such onerous
"regulations" have prevented it thus far. (Economist Walter E.
