"Talk ONLY About the Losses"

When reporting about the economy, all the liberal press talks about is "the losses." The headline on this Associated Press release is "Employers cut jobs for sixth straight month." Which looks like there ARE no jobs at all and everybody's going broke. Buried in the text is this: "Heavy job losses in construction, manufacturing and financial services, along with cutbacks in retailing, eclipsed job gains in education and health services, leisure and hospitality, and government. [Emphasis mine -RT] They don't even talk about commercial construction, which is at record levels. They only emphasize the losses. I guess that's how you create recessions. They talk about the 5.5% unemployment rate being the highest it's been in a long time, but forget to mention that a 5% unemployment rate is, in effect, NO unemployment. They give you all the negative figures, ignoring anything positive, and say the economy will have a "great effect" on the election. What they DON'T say is that the "softening economy" comes directly from liberal and environmentalist excesses that have made it almost impossible to drill for oil in the U. S., while making it impossible to build new oil refineries here for more than 30 years. All this reduced oil production in the U. S. to the point where it has become a "crisis" while blaming it all on George Bush and the Republicans. They don't tell you that if Democrats maintain control and/or gain more, this problem will only get worse. (AP/Yahoo News)

So THAT'S How They Do It!

Liberals like to "complicate things" and criticize people who are "too simple." That's so they can keep things so complicated you can't understand them. One of the things we do here is to simplify things so the "average person" can understand them. People have always wondered why those supposed "psychics" could tell you what you're thinking so as to "get your confidence" and con you out of money because you think they're so "insightful. These people are very good at extrapolating what's going on and attributing it to your thoughts. This cartoon simplifies the whole thing. I sometimes don't agree with Wiley, but in this case, like the one where his "Obviousman" told the old man carrying the sign saying "There Are No Absolutes" that he was "absolutely wrong" and his head exploded (the man with the sign), he hit it right on the head. (Non Sequitur)

The "Worst Economy Ever?"

The liberals like to say we're "in the worst economy ever. But they (want us to) forget a few things, such as: 5.5% unemployment, which is "effectively NO unemployment; 4% inflation with economic growth of 6%; Dow Jones "drop off" of 18% at its worst. Yeah. This is the "worst economy ever." Unless you consider the facts, which include Dow-Jones dropping 89% between 1929 and 1932 (from 380 to 41) and unemployment at 24.9% in 1933; in 1973 until 1977, unemployment went from 4.9%, then to almost 10% by 1982 (after many years of liberals in charge); while the Stock Market went from 1067 in January 1973 to 570 in December 1974 (a drop-off of 46%) accompanied by double-digit inflation (most during successive Democrat administrations). Yeah, this MUST BE "the worst economy ever." (Just common sense)
