Helms Was No Racist

I made the common mistake many people make in a previous post because most of what I "knew" about Jesse helms was what I read in the liberal media before I started "paying attention." I never knew about him adopting an Asian child of nine, because he wanted to grant this child's wish to "have a mother and father; or his support of Harvey Gantt, the first black student ever at Clemson; or his actual HIRING of James Meredith, the first black student at "Ol' Miss." "Helms was viciously and falsely portrayed as a racist--including in the totally objective New York Times obituary last week. In January 1963, a decade before Helms would run for office, he editorialized about Harvey Gantt, the first black student to be admitted to Clemson University in South Carolina. Helms praised Gantt to the skies, saying he had 'stoutly resisted the pose of a conquering hero' and had "turned away from the liberal press and television networks which would glorify him.' Gantt, Helms said, just wanted to be an architect and 'Clemson is the only college in South Carolina that can teach him how to be one.' Funny how that little tidbit didn't make the Times obituary. They must have cut it for 'space.' Helms was for integration; he was simply against 'movements.' He would later hire James Meredith, who was the first black to attend the University of Mississippi--with the assistance of federal troops. By 1989, Meredith's views had come around to those of Helms, not the other way around." That's what liberals do: twist everything their enemies do and "brand them" as racists, or something else just as vile, just as they're now doing to Ann Coulter. Meanwhile, they ignore such things as Democrat Teddy Kennedy swimming away and leaving his pregnant girlfriend to die in the car HE drove into the bay. (Ann Coulter)

Government Stealing

Eminent Domain was not created to facilitate the theft of people's property. Unfortunately, today that's what it's used for. It was created so that the government could "clear the way" for important projects, such as roads and bridges. It has degenerated into a way to "clear the way" for projects that will do nothing but increase the "tax base" and make money for the municipality. I remember a successful Greek restaurant in Denver that had to close because Denver wanted to let a contractor build a parking garage on their property. "Government officials too often mindlessly deploy their power, simply because they possess that power and can get away with abusing it. The editors of a Phoenix area newspaper, the East Valley Tribune, also oppose such arbitrary assault on the property and rights of others." Maybe if enough people oppose this government theft, the "powers that be" will someday clarify these laws to stop such thefts for the purpose of "increasing the tax base." (Common Sense)

Who Cares What Jesse Says?

They're treating Jesse Jerkson as if he were a presidential candidate, instead of a simple "race-baiting" con man. Yes, he DID run for president, but then he ad no more of a chance to be elected than I have. So why are they treating him like Jesse Helms? So he made disparaging remarks he thought were private to an associate. So what? I've made many disparaging remarks about Obama--AND Jesse Jerkson, for that matter. Does anybody want to insist on an apology from me? They won't get it. I don't say things I don't mean, thus no apology necessary, whether or not other people think so. Besides--nobody cares what I say either (except maybe for the subject of my remarks). I keep Fox News on as "background noise" while working and in case something (like 9/11) happens and I've heard about Jesse's "nutty remarks" five times already and am getting really tired of it. I'm sure the liberals are doing the same. (New York Post)

But What If We Don't Want To?

Obama is telling us we MUST teach our children to speak Spanish. He says Europeans, who ALL speak several languages (they don't) are laughing at us when they come here and we can only speak one. But I question the wisdom of learning multiple languages, to "accommodate" people who come HERE from other countries, but who are too lazy to learn OUR language. I won't do it. If I were to MOVE to a different country to LIVE, say, France, I would certainly learn their language. I would not demand they "accommodate" me and learn mine so I can function in their society. That's what Spanish-speaking people are demanding of us. People who speak other languages are watching, and if we "open this can of worms," the list of languages they will demand we learn will grow. Already, government notices that used to be on a post card are several pages long, with all the languages they're being forced to use in printing them. People who come HERE to live should learn OUR language, whatever nationality they are. This is not racism, it's common sense. (You Tube)

Climate Warming Delusion

Scientists in Australia have identified a "climate warming delusion" as a diagnosable condition. Psychiatrists have detected the first case of 'climate change delusion' - and they haven't even yet got to Kevin Rudd and his global warming guru. Writing in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, Joshua Wolf and Robert Salo of our Royal Children's Hospital say this delusion was a 'previously unreported phenomenon'." Oh, it has been "reported," but nobody has been paying attention while AlGore and his crowd exhibited symptoms. Believe it! Global warming IS a delusion, and science is now beginning to know it. Did George Bush Lie?

That's what the liberals have been telling us for years: that George Bush lied about Saddam's "yellowcake" acquisition plans because we "didn't find any" after we "took him down." Actually, not finding any for a time is more evidence of how good Saddam was at hiding it. Now we've found it. Will the liberals "shut up?" Doubtful. They never let truth get in the way of their fantasies." I suspect you won't read much about our find in the liberal media and the only way to find out about it is here and in other "alternative media." There are many sources shown in this article that it did exist, but nobody was listening. (American Thinker)
