Trying to Prove a Lie

The Senate Intelligence Committee spent five years "investigating" how George Bush got us into the Iraq war and came up with a completely predictable conclusion that Bush lied to use the "war on terror" as a cover for overthrowing Saddam (who, of course, was completely innocent, never mind his "rape rooms," his killing of thousands of his own people, USING "weapons of mass destruction," and his suppression of ANY dissent) This is such an obvious ploy to "demonize" the only politician who has "the courage of his convictions" it shouldn't even be mentioned. But unfortunately, people who don't pay attention to politics will believe the "majority opinion" and ignore the "minority opinion" that says this is an example of a partisan agenda which ignored completely Saddam's statements that he was building a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction. I might also talk about the 500 tons of "yellowcake" that were recently found in Iraq, but which the liberal media ignores. Liberals talk about all the money being spent on this "war" (which is no longer a war, that being won in a week, but a "pacification" of a country overrun with terrorists) but ignore the millions spent on this "going nowhere" investigation to prove a lie--theirs. Rush Listeners Better Informed

I didn't say that. PEW Research Center did and, wonder of wonders, the New York Times actually reported it (probably on page 240Z below the obits). But I still had to find out about it in a comic strip--and I'm not talking about one of the liberal-oriented strips that usually "tackle" political things. I found it in "Mallard Fillmore." Now he has written an apology that he wants signed by everybody he ever talked to at a cocktail party. (Mallard Fillmore/Seattle PI)

The 3,000 Mile Myth

How many times have you been told to "change your oil every 3,000 miles' with the unsaid threat that something bad might happen to your engine if you don't? That's what I've heard all my life, but I've never done it. And nothing bad ever happened to my engine because of poor lubrication. So why should I do it? Because "conventional wisdom" says I must. Unfortunately, "conventional wisdom" is usually wrong. The "3,000 mile myth" is a scam to increase sales of oil. That's it. The California Waste Management Board has launched a campaign to "Break the 3,000 mile myth," (Ray Thomas 101)

U. S. Soldiers Kill Iraq Governor's Relatives

In a "pacification attempt" (War's over, long ago) where it is impossible to tell your friends from your enemies, maybe the best way to tell is to look at where their guns are aimed. If they're aimed at you, shoot. I don't care WHO they are. If you hesitate, it may be YOU who are killed. Most of the "innocent people" killed aren't "innocent people" at all. They're terrorists DISGUISED as "innocent people." Being inside Mosques shouldn't be protection either, since terrorists regularly fire and attack from INSIDE Mosques. They respect NOTHING and insist WE respect EVERYTHING. Don't do it. (Yahoo News)

Gas "Holiday" Loses

They say those taxes ought to go UP, if they go anywhere. The fact that they're ALREADY too high doesn't seem to dawn on them. The government makes more money on each gallon of gasoline than do the oil companies, without ANY investment. But they still want more. They just don't care that we're already paying too much. They just want higher taxes. That's government, isn't it? I think any "gas holiday" ought to be permanent. To do it as a "temporary measure" is just a "political move." A "ploy" to gain votes. To do it permanently would be to admit the tax is too high, and they're not going to do that. (Yahoo News)

Same Ol' Same Ol'

We're in yet another "dog and pony show" designed to give yet another socialist a chance to move us closer to a socialist country and thus, toward failure, as has every socialist government eventually failed, including the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was the "showcase" for socialist governments everywhere and they still say that they just "didn't have enough time nor enough money" to make it work. Both Obama and McCain promise us "change," but real change means movement AWAY from socialism. The kind of change offered us by Barry Goldwater in the sixties and by Ronald Reagan. We're still being offered change AWAY from socialism by such as Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo, but we're not listening. And so we'll get what "The New American" calls, "not a choice but an echo." Now you might not like this publication, because the socialists have been very successful in "demonizing" its parent, the John Birch Society. But I've found that they have been right more than wrong, in most things. (The New American)
