Robbing Your Neighbors

In Amesbury, Mass., the mayor and several other local politicians what to retain the power to "rob his neighbors," and the governor of (The People's Republic of) Massachusetts agreed with him by vetoing a measure to make it harder in Amesbury than in the rest of the state to steal your neighbor's property and give it to Wal-Mart or Target Stores. The governor cites "local opposition" to the bill in his veto. But even most of the town council backed the bill while the mayor (and some other local politicians who wanted to keep on robbing their neighbors) didn't. "Of course, the persons who want a free hand to grab property whenever they like are the ones who oppose the petition. These include the current Amesbury mayor, Thatcher Kezer, who says there's "no need" for Amesbury to differ from the rest of the state when it comes to stomping on property owners." Why not? If it's right, why NOT "differ from the rest of the state? "Thievery is thievery, whether done by individuals (who sometimes go to jail for it) or government politicians (who usually don't, because they've made laws to allow it). (Common Sense)
