Jose Cruz was pulled over Monday night on Route 60 in South Charleston for driving with his headlights off. Then it was discovered he was drunk. While being fingerprinted, he let a fart, which caused them to charge him with "battery on an officer" because it was so foul-smelling. I know this is not the first instance of a drunk driver farting while being processed, but it must have smelled awful, to prompt the cop to charge him with assault. Or it was merely an overreaction by the cop. I don't know. I didn't smell it. (
