The Democrats are supremely confident they're going to "screw up" in the next two years and give the 2008 elections to the Republicans. At least that's what Lloyd Garver thinks, and he said so on the CBS web site: "I think the Republicans set the whole thing up so the Democrats could fail over the next two years, which will bring about a big Republican presidential win in 2008. Would that this were true. It'd be stupid, but it does demonstrate a strange confidence, on the part of a liberal newsman, that the Democrats will "screw things up royally." He said this was a "scam" to get Bush 41 another term as president. If it works, look for Bill Clinton to be a candidate in 2012 and beyond. (
