Just Wait 18 Months

That’s all the Islamic terrorists in Iraq have to do. In 18 months, we’ll be gone and they can do what they want because the new Iraqi government is not yet capable of withstanding their advances (they hope). Obama has “decreed” that we will be “out of there” in 18 months, regardless. But will those troops come home? No; they’ll be sent to Afghanistan to prove the fancy of Obama’s friends that Iraq was an aberration and Afghanistan is “the real thing.” What they’re going to find is that when we leave Iraq, violence there is going to increase as al Qaida gains strength and they start sending more men into Afghanistan to bedevil us. Meanwhile, Iran moves closer to being a “nuclear nation” while being run by crazies who hate us, AND Israel. Sometime in the next few years it will be necessary to take Iran down. Hopefully before their first nuclear blast in Israel or America. We've WON in Iraq. And only Obama can "statch defeat from the jaws of victory." Will he? Yes, if he does what he says he will do.(Yahoo News/AP)

Newspapers Folding All Over

They want us to believe it’s because of the “economic slowdown,” but it’s not. Not entirely, anyway. Last week the “Rocky Mountain News” (A hundred year old newspaper) went out of business in Denver, Colorado. Soon the Seattle Post-Intelligencer” (where did they GET that name) will likewise fold. The venerable “New York Times” is going down that same road, as are other newspapers all over the country. One cause of the failure of newspapers all over is the liberal drivel they’ve been spouting for too many years. People are just getting tired of it. Of late, I’ve only been buying the “Rocky” for the comic pages. I haven’t read a word otherwise for years--and I don’t even buy the Denver Post, except for the Sunday edition which contains the TV listings. I throw the rest away unread. I get my news from sources on the Internet that I trust (including blogs). They’re “out of touch” with American values, and have been for some time. But another cause is that they are the “buggy whip makers” who went out of business after the invention of the automobile and more of them are going to fold in the future as people begin to depend on more than the “printed word” for their news. Some people say they just don’t “feel right” looking at a computer screen instead of reading something they can hold in their hand. I’m sure there were people back then who would rather hold a whip in their hand instead of pushing a gas pedal. They were just as “behind the times.” (Just common sense)

Paul Harvey is Dead

I just heard it announced on Fox. I have been a steady listener to Paul Harvey for more years than I like to admit. I was afraid of this when I heard of the death of his life-long companion, his wife, “Angel.” As often happens in such a wonderful marriage, when one goes, soon goes the other. I was listening to him the day I wrote my very first article for “Timely Tips Magazine,” a three-part report called, “YOU Are YOUR OWN Opportunity.” That’s the problem with getting old. All your heroes die before you do. Earl Nightingale was another of my heroes and he died years ago. I still live by the principles he taught me, and always will. Another is Ayn Rand, with whose premises I did not always agree, but whose philosophy of “Objectivism” probably affected my life more than any other. I’ll miss them all. But there will never be another Paul Harvey. (Fox News)

It's All Reagan's Fault!

“To hear liberals tell it, it all goes back to Ronald Reagan -- who with his seductive "B-actor" [A typical way to belittle a great man. He was an "A" actor in every way. -RT] charm fooled America into thinking that by slashing taxes, regulation, and government spending we could unleash free enterprise and create a new wave of prosperity [Unfortunately for them, it's true. -RT]. Sure, liberals concede, that seemed to work for, oh, the better part of three decades [Took them that long to destroy it. -RT], but now we're paying the price for all that ‘greed.’ “ Unfortunately for them, that’s a “stretch.” They think the answer to our current problems (problems caused by them, of course) is a return to Jimmy Carter’s 14% inflation and “misery index.” If Reagan’s policies didn’t work, why did it “seem to work” for THIRTY YEARS (until they were able to dismantle it with the “Citizen’s Reinvestment Act of 1976)? What makes them think we will BELIEVE this “load?” Maybe the fact that most people “don’t pay attention to politics” and are thus IGNORANT of what’s REALLY going on. (Ann Coulter)

"Cut the Deficit in Half?"

Doubtful. Unless he “cooks the books” the way Clinton did to make it LOOK like it. Especially not the way he and his accomplices are “throwing money around” right now. He THINKS raising taxes on the very people whose investments FUEL this economy, therefore STIFLING their investments in jobs and profit-creating projects is how to do it. It’s amazing how STUPID this guy is, and how so many people (mostly Democrats and other liberals) actually BELIEVE this drivel. (Yahoo News/AP)
