That Harvard professor who was caught breaking into his own home by the Cambridge, Mass. Cops and followed the cop out to his car shouting and screaming “racist” as he (the cop) tried to leave after verifying his (Gates) identification. Gates lawyer says, “Race is not involved in this.” What a LOAD! Race IS involved, all on Gates’ part. He spends his days teaching college students how to be “race baiters” and saw a chance to get some publicity and make the cops look bad. It didn’t help when his friend, the president, called the cop “stupid.” When was the last time a president commented on a local issue like a simple “disturbing the peace” arrest? The president even “muddied the waters” by intimating that Gates was arrested IN his own home after he identified himself.
He was not. He was arrested for continuing to scream RACIST at the cop, even following him out to his car as he tried to leave. I’d have slapped his teeth down his throat for that, but I’m not a cop. I wouldn’t take that from ANYBODY. White, black, or PURPLE with pink polka-dots. If Gates had shown some simple respect, he wouldn’t have been arrested. But he wouldn’t shut up and kept harassing the cop until the cop had had enough. I think people like Gates should not be allowed to teach racism. He should be fired. But he probably has tenure, like former Professor Ward Churchill who similarly couldn’t keep his mouth shut outside (or inside) his classroom. The media talks about "overreaction" on BOTH sides, but that's a lie. The "overreaction" was ALL on Gates' part. The cop was just trying to leave after doing his job. (
