Unconstitutional Laws

Our lawmaking bodies are constantly and (if we let them) passing laws that are patently unconstitutional, then enforcing them until somebody who has enough money to hire expensive lawyers and take it to court succeeds in having it DECLARED unconstitutional. It happened in Colorado, where Democrats attempted to pass a law allowing them to steal . . . er, uh, confiscate cars driven by people who don’t have their driver’s licenses with them. It would be “cruel and unusual punishment,” since that car might be worth $50,000. A BIG punishment for a small paper violation. But it “went down in flames,” losing by almost 2 to 1. I guess we’re not TOTALLY stupid yet. But they’ll try again, count on it. That's their "modus operandi." Come at us over and over until they "wear us down." (Denver Post)

China Says No

Communist China is arguably the biggest polluter in the world, but they have said they will not observe the Copenhagen Treaty supposedly to reduce worldwide pollution. It just amazes me how many otherwise intelligent people (one would think) BUY AlGore’s global warming swindle (now renamed, “Climate Change,” since the world hasn’t been “warming” since 2000). But buy it they do, and spend a lot of money on such time and money wasters as the Copenhagen Treaty meeting (In addition to buying those phony “carbon credits” from Gore’s company, while making him millions). Gore says pollution is mostly responsible for “climate change,” but he has no REAL science to back it up. He won’t hear anybody who disagrees with him (and tries to “shut them up”) and, though he won’t even TRY to answer their points, he labels them as “out of the mainstream.” What the hell gives him the right to decide who is “in the mainstream” and who is not? Just Lower Taxes!

Obama and his gang are giving us a LOT of (taxpayer’s) money, hoping to “stimulate” the economy (an even “dollar for dollar” trade, no increase). Why not just lower taxes by that much instead of collecting the money from those who EARN it and GIVING it to those who don’t? The answer is: if they can GIVE that money (and control to whom it is “given,”) they get more POWER. They won’t even entertain the IDEA of just lowering taxes, even though it has created “boom conditions” every time it has been tried, even by a DEMOCRAT president (John Kennedy) Why do they ignore the “easy solution?” It doesn’t allow them to CONTROL it. And they are all about CONTROL. Everything they do or even SUGGEST gives them more CONTROL. If you can’t see that, there’s no hope for you. (Just common sense)

Ignoring the Constitution

So what else is new? This country itself has been ignoring the Constitution since almost before the ink dried on its signing (Check out “The Whiskey Wars”). There are more unconstitutional laws on the books that there are those that are constitutional! But nobody has, so far, come up with enough money to pay the lawyers and court costs required to get them DECLARED so. That’s one of the biggest flaws IN the Constitution: people have to VIOLATE it and “make a constitutional case” out of it before it can be resolved. There is no mechanism to make sure it IS constitutional BEFORE it can be enforced. So legislators keep on, merrily making laws with abandon, not even CARING if the laws they make are, or are not constitutional. (Town Hall/LaShawn Barber)
