Newly re-elected Afghan President Karzai says he “is willing to talk to the Taliban.” How stupid is that? The Taliban simply wants ALL “non-believers” dead and themselves back in power so they can continue to whip women in public if they have the audacity to show so much as an ankle or an eye to a stranger. They want to be able to take women to a soccer stadium and shoot them in the back of the head for BEING raped. They brook NO interference with their beliefs and actions. Even from legally-constituted authorities. That aren’t going to agree to ANYTHING that doesn’t advance THEIR wishes. They’ve proven that, time and time again. The “accepted definition” of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” Does Karzai's actions fit that description? You bet! (
