Glitch

Sorry, folks; there was a glitch in the Town Hall system Sunday, and I couldn't post anything. Monday was my regular day off, so I didn't post then, either. It's apparently back up today. This happens every once in a while. I don't know why. Nobody will tell me.

Hating Wal-Mart

Many people hate Wal-Mart, but they can’t give a logical reason, except to commiserate with “Mom & Pop” stores, which tend to close when Wal-Mart comes around. They close because they can’t compete with Wal-Mart’s lower prices and good service. This is PROGRESS, folks! Mom and Pop can go to work for Wal-Mart and make more money than they EVER made with their little stores (after costs and taxes), and with less worry. But these people don’t think about that. They’d rather pay a much higher price for what they buy, regardless of quality, while waiting for what they want to become available, from the same sources. This is irrational, and they don’t realize it because most of them pay no attention to politics and thus know nothing. Many of them actually SHOP at Wal-Mart, for the lower prices, while they tell us how much they hate them. Many people also hate Target, for the same reasons. All they see is the large corporation, forgetting that ALL large corporations are made up of thousands of INDIVIDUAL people. They’d like to see Wal-Mart and Target and others like them go out of business. But when you ask them about all the PEOPLE who would be put of work as a result, they say, “Oh, well.” Unless they happen to work there. (Just common sense)

Laws for the Rest of Us

Not for them. Paul Jacob wonders why Canadian politicians who created the government-controlled medical care in Canada come to the United States when THEY need real, and efficient medical care as the Canadian Premier did recently. They do the same thing in education. They work hard to “protect” education from competition, and send their own children to private schools.. That’s a pattern with politicians the world over; they make laws and regulations for the rest of us and make sure they’re exempt from them. They think they’re better than the rest of us and that they should be “in charge” as a divine right. (Paul Jacob/Common Sense)

Typical Democrat Dirty Trick

Start a phony organization to split the Republican vote. “It turns out that the ‘grassroots’ organizer of the ‘progressive alternative’ to the Tea Parties, the Coffee Party, has been exposed as an Obama political operative. If you had read the profiles of the Coffee Party founder Annabel Park in the Washington Post or New York Times you wouldn't have had a hint as to her extensive political activity in the 2008 Obama campaign.” Apparently the NYT and WP aren’t capable of the simplest “vetting” of a name to see if the person is an Obama operative PRETENDING to be a conservative. They're Frightened

Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement scares the hell out of the Democrats, and they prove it by bending every effort to minimize their influence. But it’s not going to work. It has gone too far. ABC says there’s nothing but “anger and harsh rhetoric” there. And they’re right, except for the word “nothing.” There’s a LOT of anger there because Obama is looting them and they don’t like it. The liberals will always tell you who scares them the most. They’ll try and “marginalize” them. They do it with Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and others. They do it with the Tea Party because it is the first serious movement that could unseat them and send them all back home to obscurity where they belong. (Media Research Center)

The Fannie and Freddie Scam

They’re still buying up those “bad loans” brought on by the Democrats’ “Citizen’s Reinvestment Act of 1976”, created to FORCE lenders to make loans to people who could not repay them, ever, to create pressure on the economy that could be “tripped” at will to guarantee a Democrat victory in an election. That’s because, now that Democrats are “in control,” having “tripped” their “pressure cooker” just before the 2008 (by taking Fannie and Freddie over, even though they were already wholly-owned government companies) elections to guarantee a Democrat victory and a “bloodless coup” to take over the U. S. government. They want to make sure (with OUR money) that those “bad loans” won’t scuttle their own administration. Buying up those bad loans made sure the economy wouldn’t “go south” until they were ready. Then, after they were safely in office, they passed a law giving Fannie and Freddie “carte lanche” in how much money they could get to continue buying up those bad loans until they could quietly stop those lenders from making them and get rid of Fannie and Freddie. They’re using OUR MONEY to con us out of not only more money, but power, as well, while blaming it All on the lenders.. Are you going to let them keep on doing it? (Just common sense)

Murtha Is Dead

And I’m not unhappy. He died of complications to gall bladder surgery. I wonder about the competence of his doctors, since that surgery today is such a simple thing (I had it last year). Maybe it was just “his time” and the doctors are not at fault. But from what I've heard, they botched the surgery. True, he may have been a good soldier, and maybe he did some good things in his early Congress career. But as he got older, he became more and more of an idiot. And worse, an idiot with a big mouth and a lot of arrogance. He did a lot of damage to some good people with that mouth with his accusations against some innocent soldiers. Remarks for which he never apologized when those soldiers were found INNOCENT after the EVIDENCE, which he ignored, was in. I hope a Republican replaces him and further depletes Obama’s majority in the Congress (already somewhat depleted by Democrats who, knowing they'll be beaten in the next election, decide not to run, or who are running from ethics charges, like Charlie Rangel). It’ll be the only GOOD thing he has done recently. (Just common sense)

Hating Jim Bunning

For insisting Congress follow the rules and not spend more money than there is in the world. The liberal media and even his own party members hate him for doing that. What’s WRONG with following the rules? For Democrats, and many Republicans, that means they can’t do what they want to do in spite of “the rules.” They think they’re ABOVE the rules and when someone like Bunning stands up and insists they actually FOLLOW the rules, they get mad. We need more people in the Congress like Bunning to insist they FOLLOW the rules instead of flouting them. They talk about him “throwing the middle finger” when all he is doing is insisting they do what’s right, when what they want to do is wrong.  Of course, all they talk about is how people are “out of work” because of Jim Bunning. Nothing in the media OR in Congress about following the rules or how those people WILL be paid after they get things straightened out. Federal employees DO get paid eventually, whatever happens. They will ALL get their “back pay.” Harry Reid talks about these federal employees “standing in the employment line” when that is the LAST place you will find them. The whole thing is over the "Paygo" bill (passed by the Democrats) to make sure Congress doesn't pass bills for which they have no money. What a bunch of hypocrites! Bunning is insisting they folloow THEIR OWN rule. (Huffington Post)

Obama Lectures Us

“When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save for college.” Does he think the American people are STUPID? The only person spending like a drunken sailor is HIM. And not with his own money, either. And he doesn’t stop when he runs out of money. He just prints some or borrows it, with our great grandchildren being “on the hook” to pay it back. Gawd, this man infuriates  me with his arrogance and ignorance! (Just common sense)

Fannie Mae Seeks More Money

After they were part of the CAUSE of the “economic slowdown” we’re now suffering, and later being granted unlimited funds to continue their work, they’re now asking for yet MORE money to use in unsettling our economy. And I’d bet they’re going to get it, as long as Obama and his henchmen are in power. It was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who bought up all those bad mortgages to “keep the lid on” the Democrats’ (successful) scheme to get Obama and a lot of other Democrats elected and take over the government in a “bloodless coup” by the Democrats “taking them over” at a key time, designed to affect the 2008 elections. This is not a “conspiracy theory.” It is FACT, obvious to those of us who DO “pay attention.” (ABC News)

Still Arguing About WMDs

Liberals are still arguing about the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, even though they KNOW Saddam USED them on his own people. We haven’t found any (until recently, but you won't read about that in the liberal media) because he was very good at hiding those he didn’t send out of the country in the eleven months’ warning we gave him before invading and overthrowing him. They still also talk about “the Iraq war being over.” It IS over. We won that war in less than two weeks. We’re now engaged in the “cleanup,” as we still are in many other countries, including Korea. (Just common sense)
