A woman in England died when government-run hospitals and doctors did not take her seriously when she told them there was a bathroom brush embedded in her colon. When they finally did take her seriously, the operation that had to perform was life-threatening—and she died. Her husband is suing. He says that the fact she was drunk when she fell on the brush is immaterial. It was the delay caused by their socialized medicine system that killed her. (
